Over a period of several years, this home was refurbished on the inside as well as the property outside. Beginning at the front of the home, the embankment sent water running to the front entry. The back of the property had never been fine graded by the builder. We were ready to get our hands dirty!
We began by using heavy equipment to relocate hundreds of boulders onsite to create natural retaining walls for more usable space. The lower level created open area for sports or play. We then expanded the parking court with boulders lining the new stone paving, while retaining grade against the wood line. We also updated the deck with a broad stairway to the upper tier of the yard, perfect for outdoor entertaining.
We wanted to give the front embankment texture and interest, so we planted a variety of ornamental grasses and vibrant perennials, carefully placed to envelop the surrounding boulders. Finally, we widened the stone walk, reusing the natural paving stones, providing a welcoming entrance to this traditional ranch.
